First Collaboration with the St. Gallen Symphony Orchestra

Every year, the St. Gallen Symphony Orchestra performs during the "Festspiele St. Gallen". This year, the concert took place on June 24, 2026, at St. Laurenzen church. The program featured two major works from the 20th century: Joseph Jongen's Symphonie Concertante for organ and orchestra and Francis Poulenc's Gloria.

Jongen’s work marked the first time the symphony orchestra performed alongside the Laurenzen organ. The varied and colorful piece required very precise rehearsals. At the concert, it delighted both the audience and the participating musicians. Modestas Pitrenas conducted the orchestra with verve, inspiration, and precision. For me, it was both an honor and a joy to be able to perform with the orchestra for the first time.

It was a premiere that evoked a clear desire for more collaborative projects!
